Nights are getting longer, the temperature is getting warmer and the UK can finally see an end to lockdown on the horizon. With the scheduled reopening of gyms and fitness facilities only a few weeks away the big question everyone keeps asking is ‘what should I do to get fit post lockdown?’. After months of limited access to indoor health and fitness centres the nationwide easing of restrictions will see a rush of new gym members and people desperate to improve their health and fitness levels while enjoying some much needed human interaction.
Gyms up and down the country are busy getting their facilities ready to reopen and dusting off the dumbbells that have been sat unused for months. But with great intentions and high motivation levels, usually only seen in January, comes the inevitable despair of missed goals, injuries and declining enthusiasm.
The choice is endless, from indoor cycling and group classes, bootcamps to booty workouts, deciding which workout to do and which one best suits your goals is harder than ever. With the promise of a virtual home workout revolution encouraging more people to train at home, options have never been so varied. So why leave the comfort of your home to train? Why make the investment in a personal trainer? Why not just google the latest celeb diet trend? Quite simply: Experience, expertise and accountability.
A Personal Trainer isn't there to push you without a plan
A personal trainer is not there to shout at you while watching you perform your 99th burpee. They’re not there to tell you how much they can lift or give you a running commentary on their favourite Netflix series. Checking their phone between each exercise and coming to the session unprepared or without a plan should always be a warning sign.

A good Personal Trainer creates bespoke programmes and tracks your progress
A good personal trainer assesses your goals and targets and builds a realistic programme which will drive you towards hitting those goals. A good personal trainer will tailor your programme to you individually, taking into account factors such as your training experience, injuries and body type. They will design a nutrition plan that is manageable, target driven and sustainable. They will help educate you in all things nutrition and exercise along the way. They will offer you support and put systems in place that will help you keep yourself accountable giving you and your trainer the ability to track and change things along the way.

A great Personal Trainer will ensure you reach your goals
