"Like many people I struggled to maintain my fitness during lockdown. I tried home workouts etc but could not achieve the same results as using an actual gym and fitness classes. I knew once lockdown was over I needed something radical to get back into shape and to feel fit and healthy again. I knew I wanted to try out a personal trainer having never tried one before. I did a lot of research and wanted to go for a highly reputable, best-in-class PT facility, hence why I chose Embody.
In my initial assessment went through my current activity levels, fitness goals and took measurements so I had a clear understanding of where I was at, and where I needed to get to to reach my targets. The nutritional aspect was really important given that is half of the journey in itself. I had clear daily calorie and macronutrient targets which kept me on track. The therapy assessment was fine, fortunately I didn’t have any muscular or skeletal imbalances/issues.
My nutritionist Danny was great, friendly, very professional and clearly knows his stuff. I have been training for the last 15 years of my life and the core principles of fitness and nutrition which Danny took me through were in line with what I have learnt over the years, with additional tips. The training program was equally as good, I’ve learned new methods of training, new exercises and have developed the weaker parts of my body to build more well-rounded strength.
My PT Joshua was fantastic, very motivating, always had high energy, and consistently offered guidance on ways I could improve my form. He helped push me to my limits, particularly on days when I would enter the gym feeling tired, I always left feeling refreshed and energised.
To anyone considering a programme at Embody, I would 100% recommend going for it. Even though I have been training for the last fifteen years, I was able to learn a lot in the last 10 weeks, push myself past my limits, and get back to where I wanted to be health and fitness wise. It was exactly what I needed after months of being in lockdown. It has been a breath of fresh air both mentally and physically."
